So BIG companies usually don't develop "niche" programs like recipe software…since the "numbers" aren't big enough to make a decent profit for them. There are far fewer of us than there are Windows users. The downside with Macintosh computers is. 3-4 years from now…will they still be compatible…or files types be "importable" into newer programs. ![]() The same logic can be applied to 2011/2012 recipe programs. Then they decide to purchase a newer recipe program that IS compatible with newer hardware & OS versions…then find that they are not able to import their old recipe files into the newer programs. ![]() Click to expand.Where I'm mostly coming from is…recipe programs (or many other Macintosh programs for that matter)…that might be 3, 5 or more years old that someone has been using…and that program may no longer is being upgraded/updated (or hasn't been upgraded for a long time)…and thus is no longer compatible with newer hardware or newer OS versions.
